Gloria Marigny was a pioneering force in the labor union movement in Los Angeles. She served within Local 399 as Secretary-Treasurer and a member of the International Board — and was herself a Certified Nursing Assistant, giving her an unmatched understanding of the healthcare sector she fought so hard to protect.
As the photographs below show, Gloria built relationships with some of the most consequential political figures of her era — Rev. Jesse Jackson, Senator Ted Kennedy, Mayor Tom Bradley — advocating tirelessly for the rights of nurses, CNAs, and healthcare workers across California and the nation.

Kedrin Johnson founded Gloria Marigny C.N.A. School in honor of her grandmother, whose name and spirit live on in every student who trains here. She also serves as CEO of WAYS Home Care & Health Agency — a multi-state healthcare organization with locations in Inglewood, Antioch, San Diego, and Las Vegas.
Under Kedrin’s leadership, the school has produced its Fall 2025 Inaugural Graduating Class and its Spring 2026 Graduating Class of 23 new Certified Nursing Assistants. More than half of the 2026 graduates received scholarships personally funded by Kedrin herself.

This scholarship covers tuition, textbooks, uniforms, and exam fees. Founder Kedrin Johnson has also personally funded additional scholarships for graduates who needed extra support.
